In line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018, all personal data including written notes, are stored securely and are treated as strictly confidential. They will never be shared with any third party without your written consent or the consent of your legal guardian if you are under 18yrs of age. Furthermore, what is discussed during your therapy session/s is also confidential.
However, it may occasionally be necessary for me to discuss aspects of our work together with a professional mentor or supervisor, but even in these circumstances your personal details would not be disclosed.
There are exceptions to the above so please note Limits of Confidentiality:
• If the Law requires disclosure
• If it is in your best interest for the therapist to disclose relevant information to your GP or medical carer
• In the event of a complaint being made against the therapist
Discussion with you would take place with regard to the above.
